Buffalo State University Hosts NASA Day April 7
As part of its activities in Niagara Falls and Buffalo leading up to the total solar eclipse on April 8, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will be at Buffalo State University, which has been designated a NASA Subject Matter Expert site, for NASA Day on Sunday, April 7. NASA Day will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center.
This free public event will include information and activities related to NASA’s science and engineering endeavors. Hands-on family activities will be available for the duration of the event, and special additional presentations take place throughout the morning and afternoon.
The schedule of presentations is as follows:
10:00—11:00 a.m.: Contributing to NASA’s Solar Eclipse Studies: Find Out How You Can Also Contribute, with Kevin Czajkowski, NASA GLOBE Mission Earth
11:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m.: Moon Rocks Exhibit
1:00—2:00 p.m.: Deep Space Logistics, with Bianca Rhym, Gateway Deep Space Logistics Studies Manager
“I’m really excited that we can host NASA Day at Buffalo State University,” said Kevin Williams, associate professor of geosciences and director of the Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium. “The presentations by NASA subject matter experts, hands-on activities, and display of moon rocks are sure to attract members of the Buffalo community and those visiting for the eclipse.”
