Buffalo State's Health and Wellness Program prepares its graduates to serve in the field of public health as health education specialists. Health and Wellness students work closely with faculty members who have expertise in community health education, exercise science, and epidemiology. Upon completing the program, students are eligible to become Certified Health Education Specialists, a nationally recognized credential.
Health and Wellness, B.S.: prepares students with the knowledge and skills needed to assume roles as health and wellness professionals in a variety of settings, such as not-for-profit community health agencies; college health promotion; government public health agencies; corporate or worksite wellness; private business or personal training consultant; and health care organizations.
Certificate in Exercise Science: designed for the Health and wellness student whose interest and passion are in physical activity performance and training. Students work with faculty who specialize in exercise science and are provided with the foundational knowledge and skills to pursue careers in personal training and corporate wellness. Students are encouraged to pursue highly recognized certifications related to exercise science.
Certificate in Health Promotion Sciences: designed for the Health and Wellness student who is interested in working to improve health outcomes of an entire population through health promotion. Students work with faculty who are Master Certified Health Education Specialists and actively engage in community-based health promotion events and internships.

Health and wellness students can pursue a certificate in Exercise Science, a certificate in Health Promotion Science, a minor in Coaching and Physical Education and/or an Adult Education, M.S. (4+1 Accelerated Pathway).
Health and Wellness Student Association: Educates students through lectures, guest speakers, conferences, and field trips
Phi Upsilon Omicron Mu Chapter: the oldest national family-and-consumer-sciences honor society in the U.S. Accepted students participate in disease awareness events, fundraisers, and events related to nutrition and health awareness.
